Buying used 2013 335i m sport - need some advice

Hi Everyone,

This is going to be my first BMW. Currently looking at a 2013 335i m sport with 27,xxx miles, in service date of 8/13 and 6/100k maintenance plan. Currently have the price at 37000 - which seems good to me. Clean carfax, 1 owner, sold a manheim to this respective dealer.

What are the things I should be looking for? The car already passed a BMW pre inspection. Everything got a great rating. I am currently looking at the maintenance history and this is what I see:
-fuel tank vent value - perm. malf.
-acceleration sensor EDC/VDM - perm. malf.
-remove water drain gromet of units compartment.
-camshaft adjusting unit - fault code stored in diagnosis fauklt code memory
-tire vibration - 5000 miles
-FT wiper rubber insert
-fresh air nozzle

Any thoughts would be appreciated. Does that price sound good? Any other areas I should be concerned with?

What was MSRP? 37K seems a little steep for having 30K miles almost, although if maintenance plan is included that's good.

Given it doesn't have NBT iDrive, and is about to depreciate further due to the LCI 2016's coming out in half a year, you may be able to do better.

I paid 41k for a 2013 335i M sport CPO with 9500 miles and zero maintenance issue history in July. Original msrp was 59k. Car was 10.5 months old.

MSRP wa 57, 3xx. It has premium package, technology package, sport transmission. Should have mentioned that.

It was probably a pull ahead lease, no?

I still think given the mileage it's too high, but don't know enough about F30's coming off of leases and what's a fair price. Can you KBB it and see? I'm sure the dealer has left plenty of room for profit in that price.

Says one owner, personal not lease. KBB says 45-47k fair market price, but that seems really high to me.

Should I be concerned with that history?

I traded my 2012 328 f30 for 2013 335 f30 w/ tech pkg, cold weather pkg, driver assist, premium pkg, sport auto, moonroof, 7,800 miles sticker price $38k. Closed out just above $38k after taxes fees and dinan add

Ok. Sounds like I'm passing. Anyone have any ideas where to find the right car? Can't seem to locate one on autotrader or through BMW certified.

That's because unless it's a 2012, there are probably no F30's coming off of leases just yet, which account for most of the CPO pool.

Exceptions to this case are if they were F30's that were purchased and traded into the dealer, or the dealer bought them at an auction. But the likelihood of this is less than vehicles coming off of leases.

I'd expect F30's to start flooding CPO sections of dealer lots by December 2015. Until then, either lease or CPO an E90 if you can't wiat.

Ok, so based on what I can find right now, it is between the used car that I posted the specs in the first post, or a couple 2014 328i m sports for about the same price. Any thoughts? Does anyone know of any for sale near them? I need a car by the end of this week or next, so any help is appreciated. Currently in a rental due to my car being stolen.

Only you can answer the question of if you want the N20 or N55 engine. Do you want the power?

I'm satisfied with the N20, and would personally rather have something newer with less miles if the price is the same.

please dont turn this thread into a n20 vs n55 debate again. 37k is way to high of a price with for this car. 32k is more reasonable.

keep looking...

The original car sounded pretty good to me. It's loaded and seems like a good value for the options. The only concern is the maintenance history, but you have 2 years and 23k left on the original warranty so there's plenty of time to drive it and decide if it's a keeper or not.

Relax.

All I am saying is, that you either get an older vehicle with more miles and a faster engine, or a newer vehicle with no miles and a slower engine.

Just depends on if the buyer wants newer versus faster.
