Is there any way to force the OTA maps to update?

I have a 2015 LCI and it should be on map update 2016-2 but it's still showing 2016-1 on the IDrive Screen.

I'm getting p'd off with it. I've had no end of trouble the connected drive system and had various modules replaced by BMW. Each time it comes back worse than the last time.

I'm trying to work out if it's the car or it only updates when it's told to by BMW or if I can force it.
