Here's a photo of the chrome housing I received yesterday. I won't have time to install them until the end of the month unfortunately

Appreciate all your info and help. I am going to order these headlight really soon. These halogens are really terrible. I am so happy they could be done for less than $500

Was coding needed for the M-steering wheels and airbag replacement? I will try to find the dual stage airbag on eBay as you suggested!

Wow, good job for being the first to post a chrome housing pic. Can't wait to see what it looks like on your car. I am leaning more towards the chrome look minus the orange bulb. I would use either an led bulb or mirrored amber bulb. I think this would be the cleanest look. IMO The black housing would be nice if it didn't look so smoked. It should have been a clear glass over black insides with the silver brow like the original lights. Chrome looks closest to factory.

I'm in on the group buy from Australia, As thats a saving of $200 for me
(if its still being organised)

Other than that we should try to formulate a list of suppliers & availablilty for Black/Chrome in LHD/RHD

I've had a look through the links so far in the thread but most seem out of stock or unavailable.

You'll probably find the same headlights cheaper on eBay than you will through a group buy from Australia. MARS has their headlights marked up way too high.

As for being out of stock, just search eBay manually. A lot of the links posted here are for auctions that are sold out or ended. The same sellers are relisting them one after another.

The eBay one should be made by the same people as the ones on the Australian website. Based on the description and this forum, it was made be a company called Eagle Eye in Taiwan: http://www.eagleeyes.com.tw/en
However, I do not see this headlight located on their website. Maybe someone can dig through the other languages and see it there.

Probably Philips Diamond Vision or Sylvania ZXE. Others might have a different opinion.

I am so close to pulling the trigger on chrome it's not funny. My car is black, so I like the contrast the chrome will provide and the OEM look.

My only hesitation is on how the LEDs look. They seem to project as discreet light sources (i.e. dots) vs. the more uniform look of more modern LED treatment and OEM angel eyes. They remind me of the first LED DRLs on A6s, Q7s, etc.

Will wait for more user pics to get posted before pulling the trigger.

Eagle eyes has it on their website under the Performance headlights section. If you look under OEM headlights, they only have older generations of the 3 series.

I am in the same boat. I would like them to be more uniform but I strongly dislike my halogens.

Great find!
I am not 100% sure but I believe the hid ballast route will give a light error in the dash.
Also, it looks like the headlights + hid's, as opposed to headlights with built in plug and play hid's, like the Mars headlights we looked at earlier in this thread.

According to their description, the HID are pre-installed and it is plug and play.
I cannot find any info if coding if required to avoid errors. I will send the seller an email and post once I get a reply.

"Brightest aftermarket projector headlights featuring Pre-Installed low beam HID system.

Direct replacement over factory headlights.

Plug and play installation.

Complete OEM fitment and better than OEM finish

Integrated Plug & Play Connectors, no external harnesses required

These headlights use H7 HID Xenon bulbs (include)"

I noticed on the selections there is a "Warning Cancelor" option for $19.99. So I assume unless you code it out you will need to add this option.

I am not sure but I think the $20 "canceler" option is supposed to preclude the codes.

The only thing with the kit posted several replies up is the same one on ebay but with a hid kit. Its probably not a high quality kit and that makes all the difference in light output, color, and power spikes when tirning them on and off. The cancellor is probably a canbus that prevent error code from showing on the dash. I remembering readin some threads where even with the canbus the hid kit would blow the fem unit and that would have to be replaced as well as the lights. The more exoensive kits come with hd relays so that this kind of thing wont happen but not sure about the canbus part. If only bmw made it easier to put in your own hid kit.
