H & R Sport Springs

Good Day all!
I'm looking for your opinion.
I have a F30 xDrive and am looking to lower the vehicle.
I don't want to change too much of the characteristics of the car, - ride quality, performance, handling, etc. But i do want to lower the vehicle.

I'm considering going with H&R Sport Springs.

What's your opinion of this approach?
Will this option affect the car negatively?
Will it affect the xDrive on the car?
How will driving characteristics change as a result of the springs?

Thanks in advance!

your stock shocks will wear out faster with these springs, it will be okay for the first 10k but then the ride will be terrible

a lot of people on the forums just get springs i dont comprehend why. id recommend replacing your shocks as well with bilsteins if their even out yet.

if you have smooth roads with no bumps springs should be fine

Will the shocks wear out at 10k because of the H&R springs or because i need both springs or shocks or do I prolong the life of the shocks by going with a better set of springs... is that where the bilsteins are better?

Waiting on aftermarket shocks myself. Debating on just getting the BC racing coilovers what would be pros/cons of shocks with H&R vs coilover route?

I don't think there are any springs available for xDrive yet, correct me if I'm wrong though.

more aggressive springs such as the h&r lower the car, which puts much more pressure on your stock shocks- which in turn will wear them out much faster. Bilstein shocks, koni etc are made to support more aggressive shocks and won't wear out and the ride will be much better.

the only pros of coilovers is adjustability- something that i do not care much for. Hopefully some aftermarket shocks hit the market soon since the cheapest coilovers are like 1500$, while a spring shock combo will probably be 1000$ max

I'd like to see an aftermarket shock that is compatible w/ the Adaptive Suspension.

The super sport springs from h&r will kill your shocks but the sport springs are within the range of acceptability for the shock so 10k isn't going to kill anything. Springs are a good way to stiffen the ride a little, shocks/springs or coils would be the way to dramatically improve the handling...

To the posters that would like to scare the OP... Really? 10k on sport springs? Again I say, really? C'mon, you can easily get 50-60k no problem on a 1inch drop... 2+ inches is completely different story but the sports will run just fine with the stock shocks!

.. so is that the progression.. Springs(to lower and stiffen the ride), followed by Springs + Shocks(to improve the handling) followed by Coilovers(dramatically improve handling with adjustability).
If i want the shocks to last longer do i purchsae new spring+shock?
How much longer would the shocks lasts - if i were to do nothing with my shocks wouldn't my shocks and springs last 5-7 years under normal conditions?

Thanks

I am thinking of lowering a bit using H&R Sport Springs to improve look and get firmer handling. But anyone has recommendations of what aftermarket shock I can get to go with the H&R Sports? E.g. Bilstein B8?

Will any sport shock go reasonably well with lowering springs? Sorry for my ignorance..., not too familiar with spring/shock combo if getting separately.

Thanks!

You might want to check out the H&R Coilover system.

Or the BMW m performance springs n shock kit. Getbmwparts sells springs n shocks together for about $1600.

Edit - forgot your x-drive. Sorry.

I don't know why Eibach lowering kits are available in UK but not in America. Can be ordered by ebay.

I always felt that H&R coils were too aggressive.
