Tuned 335i F30 with PWG vs EWG

The PWG seems to have smaller downpipe and different turbo, the EWG has bigger downpipe.

If you tune both with JB4s, with decatted downpipes and full exhaust with the same mods will you get the same amount of power?

I have a 335i F30 but boost gets to 15psi by 5k and tappers down to 10psi at redline.

Would you say it's ok?

ewg makes more power with their slightly bigger turbo and leaner afr.
its normal that it goes down to 10-11psi at redline due to turbo not being efficient( small turbo) at high rpm.

So a 335i N54 with two turbos hold more boost hence more power uptop than the newer N55 smaller single turbo?

Yeah by alot. their peak in general is alot higher. I think the max PSi on the N54 is somewhere around 25psi on stock snails vs our single which is closer to 20 psi.

I don't think the turbo is different between the pwg and the ewg just the downpipe by 1/2 inch. However, I'm sure electronic control is more precise.

Hard to compare boost when talking about different turbo's or in this case 2 small turbo's vs 1 larger twin scroll turbo.

Remember what PSI actually is. It's not a measure of CFM at a glance. Both cars can make 350WHP at different boost levels with different turbo's is my point.

But more back to the point, the N54 typically has better gains because there is more ceiling room left in the turbo's.

That's correct, the peak power point is at 5800-6200 where the boost levels of the N54 are the strongest compared with the N55

Is it proven that the EWG N55 can produce more power than an equivalent PWG N55 at higher RPMs? I'm talking both cars with equal mods such as JB4, DP & Intake.

Yes EWG will make more power than PWG if everything else is equal

Could power become closer to each other because PWG can handle more E85? I know EWG has larger DP connection thus can make a little more power. But since PWG can handle a little more E85 can that make up the difference for a 3.5" downpipe connection? ie. I have been running 6 gallons of E85 (PWG) but I don't think an EWG would handle that as well and I can run a little higher boost.
