My Individual San Marino Blue F31 340i w/ M Performance

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
I took delivery of this beauty a few days ago and can't possibly describe just how pleased I am with it.

It was an agonising wait, getting approval for the colour and waiting for various stages to be rubber stamped at BMW but was definitely worth it.

It has the full M Performance body kit and will soon have the LSD too, as soon as it's available. Possibly further mods too, ideally I'd have an M3 touring but instead I'll have to make do with this

Updated with a couple more pics of the rear from before the shipping blocks were removed, one underneath shot and some interior shots.

Updated 28th Nov 2015 with photos post detail and wet sand.

That is a very nice colour. Pity that we're limited to such a limited range from BMW UK's standard list.

Have you driven a 335i in the past? If so, would be interesting to hear your comparisons with the 340i.

Not a 335i, but had a 435i for the day, this is a different beast entirely IMO, feels much more torquey and quicker. Whether that actually plays through in numbers or not, I'm not so sure, but I'd put the B58 down as being more "fun" than the N55.

Love it! I wanted tanzanite but couldn't stretch to it without sacrificing something else... hate to think what the premium is for ordering a non-standard colour!

please elaborate on the approval process you had to go through for the color. it's beautiful. this is the exact car I would have bought. If I could have afforded it. went with a previously owned imperial blue f30 n20 sport line instead

Acceleration is pretty linear and brutal, there are videos on youtube already of the acceleration so it's not really worth it tbh. With regards to fuel economy, so far, I've averaged 36 MPG UK which is roughly 30 US MPG. This is 60/40 motorway/town driving.

My understanding of the process was that the dealer had to approve it, then BMW UK, then BMW AG, then the factory had to rubber stamp the build.

Thanks! Tinting front windows is illegal here so I won't be doing that

If you don't mind me asking. Was that a standard color for the f31 of did you pay extra for individual? I only ask because the color wasn't available in the states

Apologies, should have made that clear, it's an individual special order, definitely not a standard colour.

No need to apologize, that's a beautiful combo. I would have ordered my 340i sedan that way if I hadn't already stretched my budget to get the 340 instead of 328 here in the states
