Hi, so I did my first coding last night. Added connected drive with BMW live. I have a Canadian 2013 328xi, am I correct that the combox is part of my HU Entry head unit? There's nothing in the trunk.

It's not going to work if your F30 is a 2013 model without Navigation. In order for this to work, your car must either be a 2012/2013 model with the Navigation System Professional or any 2014 model with or without Navigation.

Were you able to code the bmw live for your Canadian 328? Does it work?

I haven't try the bmw live coding yet on my 335.

I received my cable from bimmer-tech yesterday but am unable to get a hold of the tech. I assume that is my user error(PEBKAC so to speak) Anyways I am willing to give this a go on my own but need the e-sys, could I get a PM to get the software?

EDIT: Once I figured out how to use skype, bimmer-tech was more than helpful. Don't want to put their name through the mud because I had never used skype before. Never will after this, closed source software makes me feel icky.

Cleared it up by disabling "Update VCM after TAL execution" and "Update MSM after TAL execution"

So all seems succesful but I cannot see it in the bluetooth options. Locked the doors and will let it sit for 15 mins but I expect to met with disappointment.

EDIT: Yep, I have failed yet again.

Yes, it worked. I'm not sure if we can post threads from other sites, but google BMW live. That got me most of the way there, I enabled one other "online" option under 3000. I'm going to try office next. I run it tethered to my iphone.

Ok, I tried coding the HU_ENTRY but I get an error.

I am connecting via VIN. The machine is a macbook running parellels with Win7 in which I am using a thunderbolt to Ethernet connector

That TAL looks like you tried to Flash your Head Unit. What are you doing? You need only VO Code it:

Connect => Expert Mode => Coding Module => Read FA (VO) => Activate FA (VO) => Read SVT (VCM) => Right-Click on HU_ENTRY (the ECU itself not the underlying CAFD) => Select CODE.

When I got that error I hit the code button that is on the right. I will try doing the right-click option.

The Code Button on the Right is the same as Right-Click Code, so that is not the issue.

But your TAL looks strange, so I am not sure what you did leading up to it. Do only and exactly what I wrote above for HU_ENTRY and CMB_MEDIA.

Went out and tried again, still same error. CMB_MEDIA goes through a ok, just HU_ENTRY fails.

Hmm...maybe 6NK is not a valid option code for EBT and HU_ENTRY Head Unit.

Your VO has only 6NH removed and replaced with 6NK? Was there any error calculating FP in FA Editor?

Yes, all I did was remove the H and add a K. There is no error calculating the FP

Is your Combox factory installed?

I see in your pictures that you also have CMB_ECALL, which means you have Telematics Combox, which also means you should be using 6NL instead of 6NK.
