Simple question 17" wheels on simple 335d msport (
I know there are many convoluted answers to allied questions but it affects my choice of car as I must have a 3 series that can run 17" winters.
So for the last time in my life, can a straightforward 335D msport xdrive saloon be fitted with 17" wheels with 225/50 R17 winter run flats? Note no Msport plus packs nor sexy blue brakes etc nor any other additives except adaptive suspension! also note 17" wheels are not an option to buy with a new purchase 335D. |

Not a definitive answer but I'm pretty sure its a no, brakes are bigger even if they aren't the uprated ones. On the E9x 335d you could get 17" to fit but only genuine BMW wheels, aftermarket were not guaranteed to fit.

I'd say yes ! Right wheel with the right offset should be no issue.
My 335i Msport X-drive on 17" winter setup.

Looking at the Winter Tyres configurator on the BMW UK website, you can spec 17" wheels (225/50R17 94H) for the 335xd Saloon.
So this should give some comfort?

I'd say yes. It was only when researching the M Sport + brakes that I find a warning that only 18" could be used. I would assume that this implies that with the standard brakes, you should be fine.
As far as I am aware, 335d and 330d as standard without options have the same brakes so you should be fine. You can always get your dealer to do a parts search just to be 100% sure.

Thanks one and all. Thats all good stuff for me to chew on.
When I go to get my quotation for a deal, I'll double check with the parts department after seeing the salesman |
