This isn't my car but I do have the same problem I wonder what it is and if it's normal?

Haven't really noticed exactly that on my wife's 328xd, but don't think it's anything unusual. I think the fuel to the injectors turns off so fast the engine's crankshaft turns over a couple more times, compressing the air in one or more cylinders. Then it doesn't get entirely over and the engine backs up 1 rev. Some sort of leakdown going on. Might also be turbos spooling down, or air in the intake charge pipe leaking off.

That's normal it's to do with Egr clean, was an update to the the car.

I've heard mine do that a few times, but it's done it since new, so I don't think it's an issue

confirming that mine makes a ticking noise for about 1.5 seconds after shutting the engine off as well.

It's the regular noise when shutting down. Don't worry, just surprising the first time you hear it.
