Best clay bar product?

I've been doing a lot of research on detailing and wanted to try using a clay bar. I'm leaning towards Chem Guys based on my research. What is the "best" clay bar / brand / product / etc. in your opinion?

I believe "clay bar" is patented by one company; therefore, each version is re-sold to a distributor. There are a variety of companies that sell their clay bar; however, I believe only one that produces it.

I go with Adam's clay (gray in color).

I use the Meguiars clay bar as I find most of their cleaning products to be the superior products in the market. This is based on my personal opinion on cleaning products.

I believe Larry @ AMMO stated they used to be patented but that patent has expired. According to the video, they're pretty much all the same.

I use Meguiars because I can get it almost anywhere and I like it so far. I got the kit at first, but in my experience using water is better than the quickshine the kit comes with to use. But it seems they're all the same so you should be good to go with whatever you want.

I can't believe nobody mentioned that clay bars are completely obsolete. Pick up a nanoskin clay- thing along with their lube and you'll be set for life. You'll never have to fold it, if you drop it, and you will, you just wash it off. It makes claying super easy and FAST!

Clay bars are not obsolete....nanoskin is just an alternative to clay bar. True detailers are still using the traditional method with clay bar & lube. Try either way...they both work...there are different grades of clay and there are different types of nanoskins.

Agreed. Having used both, for a weekend warrior who wants to keep his car clean, a fine grade nanoskin foam applicator is all you need. You can clay the whole car in 30 min. Using a traditional clay bar would easily take 3-4 times longer and kill your grip from folding and refolding the clay.

TBH...I use a Claybar Mitt from Chemical Guys. Works amazing. Probably wont be using an actual clay bar again.
