Is 285/30/19 worth it?

Im currently running Velgan VMB5 19x9 ET 35 Front 19x10.5 ET 45 Rear. Wrapped with CONTINENTAL EXTREMECONTACT DW 245/35/19 275/30/19. I am not lowered on stock M-sport suspension but may do a subtle drop in the future. I did contact Velgan and they said should be no problem fitting.

My questions is, is it worth it for 285 vs 275. I am FBO and all the traction I can get helps but 285's are back ordered and the 275's are on sale for half the price. Is the 285 really worth the extra wait and price? Hoping to get some feedback from other with same wheel specs.

Including picture for reference of current 275's

Any feed back on 285's? I know someone has to have some input.

Many others claim even 275's ride is too rough on a F30 and recommend no larger than 265/35 on rears.

And why are you getting the Extreme Contacts in Florida?

Well I went a different route. 275/35/19 & 245/40/19. Should give it a good look and ride. I will post pictures when I get them on in a week or so.

I am getting the ExtremeContact DW (Dry Wet) great summer performance tire with good tread life. I am not getting the DWS (Dry, Wet, Snow) which you might be thinking of.

What's funny is the DWS rate higher than the DW in dry and wet conditions despite being all seasons

Would have gone with Continental SportsContact 6 in Florida instead of any Extreme Contact.

Good plan. More sidewall should give you a little more straight line traction and ride comfort. Especially with the tire already stretched so much.

Spending a lot more for a 285 tire would not have been worth it.

I am running 245/35 and 285/30 Continental ExtremContact and loved them but this past summer my xDrive didn't like something as it seems like the transfer case was jurking the car on acceleration. it all went away when I put my winters 225/50R17 on all 4 corners. I really like the looks of larger tires but I think I will have to do some changes due to the xDrive issues... I might try to go 255/35R19 all around... I am not dropped but I have the Sportline package

I think every xDrive suspension is the base suspension no matter what your line is. The jerky transmission may be caused by your tires sizes, research BMW rolling diameter if you want to know more.

Subbed for pics of results. I'm tired of seeing low profile tires on these cars. I plan on getting a very similar setup with wheel specs and tire sizes as you.

No way this is the cause if your suspension issues. Those particular sizes are perfect rolling diameter. Look beyond that. Might need a tyranny service
