Hey guys - need clarification on something... I was re-reading this thread this morning, waiting for my 10AM drop-off/install time and whoops, looks like I have the 335 (6MT 31336860629) front springs instead of the proper ones for the 328 (#31336860628). Thanks Ronin for your post about these #s, I never would've caught it.

Just wanting to confirm that the front springs are all I need to swap out? Shocks/struts, rear springs, etc. are interchangeable right?

I've had this damn box in my garage for a few weeks now, before my car even came, and I didn't bother checking part #s because on GetBMWParts.com the only option when ordering the F30 MPS is 'with/without M Sport'. No separate designation for various models...

Installed yesterday, here's a couple crappy pics! The drop looks great IMO, the perfect height...still has some settling to do I think. The change in handling, even coming from M Sport suspension, is nuts. This thing is on rails now!

Yeah it's not really describable, amazing upgrade.

Thanks! I'm happy with em too, I'll be ordering VMR V710 for next summer and an still debating 18 or 19 staggered. But after seeing this look, I might go with the more practical 18s and enjoy the extra rubber/better ride

Is this out yet for 428? Typically coupes and sedans had the same suspensions in the past. Is that still true?

I would think a 328i MPS would work on a 428, just provide the retailer with your VIN so they can be sure that front spring part #s are right (these vary based on motor, trans, options, etc).

The coupe has a lower CG, so I would imagine different spring rates, so I would double check with your SA before you spring for this. Right now, it only shows compatibility with the F30 body style.

Hi guys looks like I'm part of the minority with my F30 328i auto and just want to make sure I get my part numbers right before I order.

M Performance Suspension: 33 50 2 320 980
M Performance Springs (Front): 31 33 6 860 629
M Performance Springs (Rear): 33 53 6 860 621

I got the springs numbers from my ETK (see attachment). Should I trust that these are right? I only have doubts because I think I saw someone else with a 328i auto with a different number for the rear (he had ...620).

BTW awesome thread peeps... have learned heaps.

I really want to know what comes with the kit. I have issues with my MPS making knocking noise when driving on the bumpy road. BMW dealership states that I need to order the stabilizers with the kit. However, as I remembered M sport 335i doesn't need stabilizers. The car already equipped with them.

Yes, stabilizers already on the M sport model.
They didn't install the bumpstops with the struts correctly-it's on the dealer!

Dealer fixed my MPS, but it feels more body roll than before. Wired.

What is the actual spring rate of the OE Sport Suspension as well as the M Performance Suspension?

The cost of labor is alarming. The cost approaches the price of some good coilover solutions.

only if you need the roll bars. M-sport or sport suspensions have the correct roll bars. Only the base suspension needs the 5-7 hours to install the correct roll bars. Otherwise, the springs and dampers are normal 2-4 hours. depending on the dealer.

2) For some reason the shock/struts box labels say "Retrofit Kit Sports Suspension"? Shouldn't it say M Performance Suspension?

Part numbers I received:
#33-50-2-320-981 - Retrofit Kit Sports x 1
#31-33-6-860-630 - Front Coil Spring x 2
#33-53-6-860-621 - Rear Coil Spiring x 2

Informative post.

Retrofit Kit Sports is basically the 2x front and 2x rear shock/struts in case they become worn? http://www.getbmwparts.com/parts/ind...&siteid=214672 ~$1040

Anyone know how the Bilstein HD/Sports shock/struts compare to these?

Upgrading F30 to Sport Line aka M-Sport Suspension...anyone?

Shiva, awesome ride. I noticed you commented a while back on exploring upgrading stock F30 suspension to sport line aka M-sport suspension. Do you or anyone else have any experience with such an upgrade?

I realize it's probably a bone-head idea, but my logic is that I only want to drop the ride by 10MM for a more sportier look, as opposed to the 20 MM drop that comes along with the full M Performance Retrokit upgrade. Any pics with the M-sport suspension versus the base suspension vs M Performance Suspension?

Got a kid on the way and having way too early of a mid-life crisis. Trying to preserve some form of enjoyment, after having lowered rides my whole life.

Any insight is much appreciated!

I'm running a 2012 F30 328i Sport Line (but no 704 sport suspension on it). Bought it in Canada used and original owner never bought it with the upgraded sport suspension (which comes stock in US on sport line).

i've searched and read through many posts

but it seems easier to ask in this case.

does the MPS retain the eco-pro, comfort, sport chassis settings with a firmer feel? or is it a non-adjustable highly tuned coilover?

Do the M Performance Suspension-the M sport isn't as aggressive, but if you're spending the money, might as well get something that performs on the track and is manageable in the street.

I have 56k on it, with a 16 month old, and have never regretted it.

It's not a coilover-it's static with a 20mm drop, new springs+shocks, and as such, has no impact on the "modes". All are preserved!
