I wonder if the VPC has weekend hours, at least Saturday.

Great news. A few more days and all the waiting will be forgotten.

Michigan Highway docked late last night and BMW just told me that my car made it past both Customs and the Vehicle Distribution Center and was released to the car carrier company all in one day....

Got to love the Brunswick Georgia BMW port team! Now I will likely have to wait 3 days for the truck to fill up.......

Congrats!

I spoke to BMW around 2:30 this afternoon and at that point they couldn't tell me anything, just that the ship "might" dock today, despite having been docked for almost 10 hours at that point. Guess I'll have to wait until Monday to find out more.

It is all about what person you get on the 1-800# and how much they want to put into the call

Clearing customs when it pertains to a car carring vessel from Germany is routine; in reality, it's probably more than routine than we hope, post 911. That being said, barring any masking agent a drug sniffing canine might detect, our F32's have left the port and are at the VPC right now. It's been almost 36 hours since the Elektra has docked. Space is money at these ports, especially NY. Going forward, tracking our cars is in our dealer's hands. If you don't have any M performance parts to add, it's as simple as placing on the window sticker then loading onto a car carrier, and unloading at your dealership where they might take a day to spit shine. My best guess is that you'll hear from your dealer Tuesday saying your car is ready for pick-up. Keep us posted!

Appreciate the info! 800 number says it's awaiting a shipping vessel, it looks like you were correct.

These last few days feel like the longest though, so close...

Got some disappointing news this morning.. Car won't be at the dealership until Friday, which is confusing/annoying since it's less than a 2 hour drive from the VPC.

Guess I'll be taking delivery on Saturday

I sort of jumped the gun when I predicted a Tuesday delivery for you. I read a sticky thread post where it states the car can be at the VPC for UP TO 14 days. That seems insanely long. Good news is: if you don't work on weekends, you can drive all day Saturday and Sunday, barring another snow storm.

I guess I'm looking at next week for my delivery.

I was expecting Tuesday/Wednesday myself so no worries there. Car was already through VPC on Friday and waiting for shipping, not really sure why it's just sitting there. I'm working all week, so getting the car this week is pointless anyway, I'm just impatient at this point. Picking it up on a weekend won't be so bad.

That said, I heard from my CA who told me he's expecting the car today or Wednesday (not sure why not tomorrow?), but I suspect he's misinformed as he told me in January he was expecting a January delivery, when I already knew it was impossible based on ship schedules. Here's to hoping though!

I called it....It is no different down south, car cleared VPC on Friday and remains with the trucking company, BMW lady told me delivery to the dealership was Thursday. So close, come on already and get in the cab and go!

Quick update for those of you on Elektra with me:

Turns out my car never made it to the VPC until Monday (800 number lied), the VPC is dealing with a backlog of cars and is running slow due all of the snow we've been getting here which is why this is taking longer than it should. I suspect the storm tonight/tomorrow isn't going to help matters.

That 800 number is useless after the car reaches Bremerhaven. I just called and it stated the car is awaiting a vessel. BMW website states it's receiving "finishing touches" which I assume is VPC.

This thread should be retitled "delivery stuck due to never-ending snow".

I got 16" today and another 3-6" is expected tonight. Then there's the upcoming Saturday storm. I'm only about 150 miles from the NY port so I know they're getting hammered also.

Sorry to hear.. My 3 month journey is finally over! I expressed some frustration to my CA earlier in the week when I found out I was being pushed back until next week and he managed to get my car here today, it's well worth the wait!

Holiday shutdown

Reading the original was interesting. I place an order for f30 in sept for a build around March. Being that I am in the military and deployed at the moment May delivery was needed as I didnt want the car to be sitting at a dealership lot till I returned. Then I get an email stating because of the holiday shutdown my build was pushed forward. My thinking was if that was the case then it should have been pushed back and what does the holiday shutdown have to do with a build in march. My SA is full of crap I guess.
