All BMWs shipped to the west coast go through the VDC in Hueneme/Oxnard for processing(google BMW VDC Oxnard). Not likely that a BMW would be off loaded in San Diego.

Don't think any BMW's are ever unloaded in San Diego. Maybe other makes, e.g. Audis, VW's, that could be on the car carrier besides BMW's.

Port Hueneme is a stone's throw from BMW's Vehicle Preparation Center (that's what everybody calls it even tho the sign says vehicle distribution center). You definitely want your BMW to go thru the VPC.

Didn't mean to suggest that you didn't want your car to go thru. They do a great job at the vpc. Mine went thru in one day. On my recently ordered BMW I asked the dealer not touch the car cosmetically before delivery. I was amazed how clean the car was straight from the vpc. All that needed attention was the slight residue of the wax or protectant that formed a film at the bottom of the drain holes on the doors - - easily got it off with 3M Adhesive Remover. The paint and the interior is absolutely perfect.

i think i read somewhere that people didnt want their car cleaned at the VDC. because the porters there were not expert detailers?!?@? im like what??? why would anyone not want bmw employees cleaning the car before the car is handed to them at the dealership.

wow thats like super anal retentive i thought!
i should look for that post again somewhere.

Hopefully my car will be at the dealership today or tomorrow and I should have it next week. Signed the papers yesterday and will be shipped to me in Florida.

Looks like my car arrived at Steve Thomas yesterday. Once some of this weather clears up, it will be loaded on a truck and shipped to me in Sunny Florida

Not it has not been, its just one of those sayings I never got. It rains, way more then it is sunny. It should called rainy Florida.

My dealer is telling me sometime next week. It burns me because someone in WA posted that he already got his car on 1/30.

I called BMW NA and they told me it will take another 3-5 days for the car to get up to San Francisco. You would think the closer you are to Oxnard the sooner you would have it. I just hope they didn't damage it and now they're trying to repair it.

Just make sure you guys inspect your car thoroughly when taking delivery. My brothers M3 was dented while in transit and the folks unloading it didn't catch it either. It took getting BMWNA involved before dealer finally agreed to fix it. Best to go during daylight hours to the dealer.

Mine is somewhere in the state, but the trucking company is late. Should be seeing it dropped off at the dealer in Seattle later today, but then they need another 2 days for programming and detailing.

Mine got to the dealer on Friday night but I can't pick it up until tomorrow. Looks like there's not too much correlation between the destination and when it left the vdc.
