M Tech Front Bumpers on EBAY, aret they legit?

I have been looking for a M Tech front bumper and noticed that lot of them on ebay are cheaper than what Mod Bargins, Turnermotorsports and some others sell them for. Also slot of the pictures on the sellers on ebay and the ones online are just about the same? Are these guys buying them from China and charging more than what they get them for? I know you gotta make money. Just wondering which ones to go with. Any opinions?

Do not buy one made in China. Look for one that is made in Taiwan. Checkout Selma Restyling on eBay. That's where I got mine from and the body shop said if I did not tell them is was a knockoff, they would not have known because it fit perfectly without any mods. Not sure where in Cali you are, but you might be close enough to pick it up since they are in Cali.

I have the same front bumper as Dippydo, sides and rear are OE BMW.
If it wasn't for the lack of side markers on the front bumper, you couldn't tell the difference.

I got those installed at my local BMW dealer, and they were very impressed with the fitment and quality.

Because for the price of the BMW bumper and parts I can get a replica that is identical minus the side reflectors (which I would have to buy the painted ones anyway because they look hideous), I can buy the replica, paint and have it installed for almost a 3rd of the costs and the quality is identical. The front bumper gets all messed up over time anyways especially up north so why would you want to waste money? If I end up hitting a chuck of ice, no big deal. I can buy 2 more to be equal to the cost of the OE. LOL

If the fitment was poor slm and they used a different plastic, I would agree with you, but the one from this dealer is exact quality as BMW OE from a material standpoint and injection mold.

He is probably out of them. When I was ready to buy he jacked the price up by 1000 to avoid people placing orders he cannot ship. With eBay if you cannot ship within the time frame you get negative feedback. I will send you each a PM and you can contact him directly and see when he expects more in. His last price was 399 for the front with a lip or 379 without.

For the e90s, all replicas usually come from the same factory so I imagine the f30 would be the same. Ebay, modbargins, etc are selling the same product. If getting a rep, I would stick to plastic and avoid any type of fiberglass, duraflex or whatever they are calling it now. If you cant bend it, it will crack.

Yes I believe that too. There are Chinese made and Taiwanese made. You want to buy one made in Taiwan. The Chinese ones are the duraflex (poly carbonate with fiberglass mix) and those suck.

And just for the record everyone, there are parts of our precious BMWs made in a lot of other countries. Not exclusive to Germany. I remember visiting a factory in Shenzhen and walking into the conference room to find a ton of Mercedes buttons and emblems. Turns out that factory made them for MB.

Exactly.

You have to realize that the car manufacturer outsource most (if not all) of the parts they use to build a car.

Just as an example:
- Here's the company who makes the rear M Performance diffuser for BMW.

Don't believe me, just look on the under part of the diffuser, you'll see their logo molded on the plastic.

Usually, when a supplier makes parts for a car manufacturer, they have an understanding about selling parts outside of the "regular" dealers.
This is especially true when dealing with China (and Taiwan), since they do have the biggest gray market suppliers in the world.

Not sure what you mean. Look at my lip above. BMW OEM does not fit any better or look any better. They are identical. Taiwan is a lot better than China as two other members posted they found out the hard way.

Ya that's what I meant, oem and good reps are all the same
By the way, you've mentioned that your rep lip comes in 1 piece... Do you think it's a lot of work to separate the 2 splitters from the under lip?

No it would be very easy. It is molded on the inner section so a Dremel should do the trick.
