Moving from RFT to MPSS - considerations
So I've decided to move from my OEM RFT to the MPSS (just waiting for stock) and have read that the Slime Spair would be a good kit to have when a puncture does happen.
Is there anything else that I should watch out for when going from RFT to non-RFTs? Super excited with the move! |

The MPS4S tires are replacing the MPSS and by all accounts they are an improvement. Better dry and much better wet performance.

The Pilot Sport 4 S? Interesting, I'll call around for pricing. I saw reviews the Conti sportcontact 6 is another good option, so I'll see what the stock levels are like. Can't go wrong with both right?

MPS4S (or more commonly called MP4S)
does not have full range of size offerings yet so that should be part of the consideration i went with a square set of 245/40/18 MPS4S for my 18x8.5 wheels

Sorry, what's the difference between MPSP4 and MPSP4S? I've checked around and the tire stores only have "MICHELIN PILOT SPORT 4 - PERFORMANCE TYRE" and only size is 245/40R19.
I might just stick with Contis, the dealership said they don't have stock on MPSS. [Update] I've called 4 dealers and all of them said they don't have Conti ContactSport 6 and MPSS. WTH! Last edited by Monkeyboxers; 06-28-2017 at 11:18 PM.. Reason: Update |

Same choice here, along with some Apex EC-7 rims, and absolutely loving the improvement in the ride!

Yeah nah, Australia doesn't have MP4S and Conti ContactSport 6 yet. There's a 12 week stock wait for even the MPSS.
Might just keep using the RFTs... UPDATE Michelin HQ in Melbourne indicated the stock will be arriving next week. I have called my local tire shop and they confirmed they've got shipment coming in to their stores by end of July with the OEM sizes (225/40R19 and 255/35R19). The total cost would be $1805 AUD including fitment and alignment ($1705 after $100 rebate). Around $50 per/tire more than the outgoing MPSS. Last edited by Monkeyboxers; 07-02-2017 at 08:06 PM.. |
