Cleaning the Cup Holders

I haven't really played with it yet and haven't gotten a chance to read the manual (I know, I know), but I was wondering if there was any way to remove the cup holders to clean them like you could in the e46. Thanks guys.

That rubbery-smooth lip surface is a wonder for keeping the iPhone scratch-free, but it collects dust like Swifter.

Seriously! I have the dust to whole interior at least twice a week. Some of that may be some OCD, however.

I made plastic inserts to go in the cup holders that I can remove to be washed. The fact that BMW missed the boat on having removable inserts is baffling.

Use Armor-All wipes on the interior, dust and dirt won't adhere as readily and you won't have to clean as often.

True, but takes a bit of work to get them out and they don't catch much spillage. The whole cup holder should be able to be removed to be washed IMO. Speaking of hard to remove, does anyone else find the cup holder lid difficult to remove? Would have been nice if it just slid away. Maybe its just me.

I used optimum no rinse and a microfiber cloth to clean it. I couldn't figure out an easy way to remove the cupholder so I just sprayed the inside and cleaned/dried with the microfiber

Not sure it's worth it to remove them
