2016 340i map status?

In the new map system with automatic upgrades, how does one check the current status of the map and any pending updates?

There's usually three updates that are released each year. You need to first enable automatic map updates for your region.

Just go to Navigation -> Press Options on your iDrive knob then scroll down to Navigation System Version. Under there, you should see a little gear icon and select your region.

Give it a week and you should be updated to the latest version which is 2015-4.
