About to order a 330d Msport and looking for thoughts re planned spec.
Hi,
I am hoping that I can get some feedback from current owners. I currently have a 2009 year e90 330d Msport manual and am about to order in the next day or so an f30 330d Msport with the following spec: Mineral grey, Dakota black leather, brushed aluminium trim with black high gloss finish, sun protection glass, windscreen with grey shade band, interior comfort pack, Professional media pack, 19” wheels, Ext. mirrors – folding & auto dimming, heated front seats, sliding armrest, Internet, DAB, Harman Kardon speakers. I am mainly interested in peoples comments on the Internet option and DAB option, but any other comments re the rest of my spec before I place the order would be greatly appreciated, (I was going to go for the standard red leather but I have chickened out as I am concerned I won’t like it). So what is the standard no cost limited internet access like? How does it compare to the full internet option? With the full internet option is the connection speed really slow, (does anyone know what network the supplied sim card uses in UK and if it has access to a full 3g signal), can you save bookmarks rather than having to start from scratch every time you surf the net? How well does the DAB radio work? The demo f30 330d Msport I briefly test drove had DAB and would revert to FM repeatedly as the FM signal was stronger than the Digital signal. Many thanks for your assistance. (Oh finally any news on a proper UK review, as the 1 page article in Autocar a couple of weeks ago said almost nothing)?

I warm the Oil right up then work it in lower gears allowing it to slow back down in lower gears, do that on and off on a long drive, after that drive as normal once Oil hot.

I'll enlighten you and all of you who are not au fait with the wonderful 330d Diesel engine.
0-62 mph in 5.6 secs 30-50 mph in 3rd in 2.0 secs 50-70 mph in 4th in 2.6 secs Red line 5500 rpm Power 254 bhp @ 4000 rpm Torque 413 lb ft @ 1500-3000 rpm CO2 emissions for saloon 129 g/km Speeds in gears: 1 - 40 mph @ 5500 rpm 2 - 53 mph @ 5500 rpm 3 - 79 mph @ 5500 rpm 4 - 99 mph @ 5500 rpm 5 - 129 mph @ 5500 rpm 6 - 155 mph @ 5143 rpm 7 - 155 mph @ 4315 rpm 8 - 155 mph @ 3430 rpm It idles so quietly and serenely both inside and outside, you'd think it is a petrol engine. There is no Diesel rattle whatsoever. In fact, it idles more quietly than my Mk6 Golf GTI. Plus, it revs more smoothly by some margin. An amazing engine with oodles of torque which is what one needs in the real world. The 8 speed auto is a perfect partner for this wonderful motor. I'll never buy a petrol engined car again, unless it is a Porshe or Ferrari.

Here, here! I've had mine for 8 months now and it still amazes me. In fact just had a right hoot of a journey back home where I gave an E92 M3 driver the fright of his life. He thought he'd show me a thing or two by burning me up....was not in the mood so pushed him right up to 125 in the blink of an eye....and then he decided to bottle it. Luvvly jubbly.
