ASS on 4GC...

Does anyone know if the Auto Stop Start on the 4GC is active every time you turn on the car and has to be turned off? Or does it remember the last setting?

Active every time in my experience.
Any tips on how to set it to off permanently in the memory appreciated, but suspect this not possible?

If it is, your dealer can code it to remember the last setting.

There is a service bulletin allowing the dealer to do so:

US cars are coded to stay on or off between starts. I have noticed that slug mode... I mean EcoPro also turns it back on.

Any US GC, being 2014 or later models, should already be coded to remember the last setting.

Mine is off and it remembers that setting. There was no coding or anything else done to it. I have only driven in comfort and sport mode so far and I don't know if it will remain off in Eco Pro mode.

It remembers it. As stated above, going into Eco Pro puts it back on, so when you go back to Sport or Comfort it WILL be on until you shut it off again. But this is US behavior on 2014+. Could be different where OP is.

Oops OP is in VA. So that's what you can expect Sandman.

On my new GC ASS active every time I turn the car on - no memory of previous setting - presumably a setting for the Australian Market. Will have to check on the Australian forum to see if anyone been able to get dealer to recode.
We do have different tax levels levels on vehicles at this price, based on fuel consumption, so it is possible that it's a requirement for it to default to active to satisfy some regulation or other...

Love this Title! I was truly expecting a thread based on the "rear end" of the 4GC LOL!!

Same with my 4gc... always active when I start the car.

I actually like it though so happy to leave it on.
