ECU Software Update

Can someone please post a youtube video with a full step-by-step guide on updating the ECU software on F30. I'd highly appreciate it.
Thanks!

I don't think that there is a youtube video on this subject
Just follow the steps, it's really easy

Go to Comfort Mode => TAL-Calculating
— Read and Save FA
— Activate FA
— Read and Save SVT Actual (SVT_ist)
— Create an SVT Target (SVT_soll)
Under KIS/SVT Target Calculation Strategy, select Complete Flash
Select I-Step (shipm.) to your original I-Level as read and shown in VCM I-Step (Shipment)
Select I-Step (target.) to the latest I-Level
Do a KIS/SVT Target Calculation and Save
— Do a TAL Calculation and Save

Go to Expert Mode => TAL-Processing
— Load TAL
— Load SVT Target (SVT_soll)
— Load or Read FA
— Make checkboxes at blFlash, swDeploy, cdDeploy, ibaDeploy
— Press Check software availability
— Press Start…

I meant for someone to create such a video and post it would be nice.
Your instructions are very clear also. I thought there were more steps involved.

Do you go to bmwvin.com to check the code options on your car then program those after update ? I'm just guessing.

Dependencies matter if you are not planning on updating entire vehicle.

The video would be incredibly long as it takes hours to fully update.

sorry to bump an old thread, but is it possible to bench lock your f30 DME by flashing it to latest i step? Ive read somewhere that it depends on your hardware, not istep, but Id like to be sure...

and if it gets bench locked, can I fix it by flashing it to a lower istep?

You can't flash it to a lower istep once it's been updated.

DME needs to be bench unlocked.
