Odd. Maybe this kit is designed to be an upgrade for the sport/Msport, which come with stiffer springs. This kit can't be optimized for best handling using the soft base springs, at least I wouldn't think so. Without the proper firmer springs you're going to get over damped and undersprung. WTF? |

i talked to evan at tischer BMW, he told me a few weeks ago the kit is not officially complete because the M performance springs are not available yet. they will have it up when they are available, assuming those springs are not ready for market yet

I told them there is no way in hell I'm paying for SPRINGS in addition to the struts...it's sold as a "kit" and should be listed as so. It was false advertising even from the brochure.

Just checked the brochure:
With the M Performance chassis, your BMW Series experience becomes even more unique. The shock absorbers, wishbones and stabilisers have been extensively tested and coordinated using strict motorsport criteria. The result is even more dynamic driving that will amaze on every straight and every corner. SO, it seems as if we might be wrong...unsure how this will resolve itself, but I guess I'll let them sort it out at this juncture.

The old system (E9x) was sold like that too if I'm not mistaken. You could re-use your sport springs or get the M Performance Springs if you wanted it a bit lower. Maybe it is the same thing on the F3x.

interesting...they don't sell the springs in the catalog though, that's what's odd, they picture red springs with struts together, so I'm going to see what comes of it...a bit disappointed. AND confused, how can struts, unless they are REALLY short, drop the height?!

Everything except springs in the first release then too. Springs only needed for the drop. You just used the sport springs otherwise. http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum....php?t=1500716 But it is really strange if BMW doesn't know this?! |

I ordered this from the parts department, not like I went on my own, and they said it was a complete kit. They'll have to eat it. ON TOP of that, they ordered the 328i from ARB, not the M Sport, so that's going to take another 2 weeks to come from there...what a royal cluster f#$%.

BMW f'ed up royally...here's the breakdown: 1. Part numbers on sway bars are wrong on the brochure, online, everywhere. So DON'T USE THE ARB Part's listed above. 2. The "Kit" is indeed misrepresented not only to the part's department here, but customers --> Springs are an additional $600-800, which makes this suspension "kit" a misnomer for sure, and rather pointless to install without springs. WHY WOULDn'T IT BE A WHOLE KIT BMW?!?!?!? Bad first customer experience. My SA has been awesome and has reached out to the local rep, since the dealership tore apart the car before they did a part check to only find out the ARB is wrong, and the springs were missing. Hoping the local rep will make it right for the customer, the tech, and the dealership...hoping it get's comped for my inconvenience. PITA being the forum guinea pig.

So in theory... You can just order the m performance springs on the stock system for another $600-$800?

In my case, the struts on the base are too bouncy so the valve rate wouldn't jive well with the, I'm assuming, progressive spring rate of the M Perf line..

Man this is confusing. So what do you need for the msport 335i to add the m performance suspension. Everything in the kit you currently have and use the springs already in use or is there a different spring that completes the m performance suspension kit? And, is if the second is the case, where are the springs?
Thanks |
