You should be good. Lookup.xml file is not needed if Generator is run from Command Line and not GUI.

You do not have CIC, you have NBT. It is impossible to have NEXT map with CIC. You cannot send or receive PM's yet. Send me one when you can.

Just installed NBT in my car, and probably there is too much data to digest in short period

in order to get Europe Next 2017-1 fsc
I have created the DE file through Esys
with the following data
For NBT (DE File):
In the Parameter section enter:
1. Diagnostic Address (hex) = 0x63
2. Click on the Identify button and the Base variant HU_NBT will be populated
3. Application ID for NBT= 0xDE
4. Upgrade Index = 0x1

Is that part right for 2017-1?

Because when I proceed to the following I have problem in step 6. I can't find 2017 map

1. Place your XXXXXXX.fsc into your tools directory (same location as the Base64.exe)
2. Open a command prompt (DOS Screen) and go to the tools directory
3. Type "Base64 XXXXXXX.FSC XXXXXXX_000DE001.FSC" and press enter
4. Open BMW-FSC-NBT-Generator.exe
5. Click "Browse" and select the XXXXXXX_000DE001.FSC file you generated in step 3, it should be in your tools directory.
6. Choose your map product from the list (For me it was "Road Map EUROPE NEXT 2015-1)
7. Click "Generate"

Quick question gents. I had previously successfully updated my 2013 F10 NBT map from 2013 to 2016-1 last year using Kriszty's tool in this thread. I now want to update to the NBT 2017-1 map. Which of the steps can I bypass now since I had already read the FSC and decoded it. Do i just make the necessary changes in the lookup.xml file to reflect the latest map (0xA8 and 0x28 and 2017-1...etc) and jump to the last step to generate and retrieve the new map code?

**Edit** I just went back and read all 58 pages to refresh my memory. I did use Kriszty's tool. I may have used FF to generate my code, so I'll check to see if my prev. code will work for latest 2017 map. If not, i understand I just need to update the xml file and use Patrick's tool to generate new code?

I'll answer my own question in case someone else wonders down the road as I figured it out after doing some more reading. I used Kriszty aka Patrick's tool (Great tool) to upgrade my map to 2016-1 last year. Since I already had pulled my initial FSC code from my car via E-sys last year, all I had to do is modify the lookup.xml file to reflect the 2017-1 map (used Shawn's instructions). Basically copy/pasted the <...NEXT 2016-1...> in the xml file and changed to 2017-1 and this other parameter as per Shawn's instructions. Then launched the tool, pointed it to my FSC files, selected my map and generated my new code and voila. Map was successfully updated yesterday.

SWID_DE_reader seems to work fine/connected/load VIN/load FSC data- but the length of NNXXXXX_00DE0001.fsc is 63b...

Ive changed the lookup file to say the following but the code keeps getting rejected when trying to put into the car

Any ideas

All that matters is " SWID_FscShort="00A90029" name="Road Map EUROPE Next 2017-1", and that is correct. Your problem lies elsewhere.
