Installed--pics and review-Pilot Super Sports 255 40 18 square.
Hello..
Finally put these on my 2013 335i xdrive. 255/40/18 Pilot Super Sports on 18x8.5 35 offset square, wheels locally bought and installed in Toronto. No rubbing what so ever. Initial impressions. 1)Should have gotten rid of the runflats as soon as I bought the car..why o why..why didnt I do it earlier. You no longer feel that your engine is falling off when you hit every bump. Those pirelli run flats were forged in hell. 2) 255 width tires square is ideal for the weight and power of this car.225 looked like the car skipped leg day, The looks are just so damn sexy, front and back with wide tires. This is a better setup than 245/40 IMO, which has a smaller overall diameter and thinner sidewall.Just do yourselves a favour, sell your 18x8 and get 8.5s to put these on. 3)Grip..grip and more grip...and then some more. These tires are glued to the road, sagas have been written on PSS so wont bore you more, ya, just get these tires if you have a BMW.dont research more. 4) These are quiet very quiet for a max performance summer, but these are not all season touring tires and you shouldnt get all season touring tires for a BMW. These absorb the bumps and irregularities well, but dont mask them completely and I am happy with the noise levels, its an acceptable trade off. But..to get the most of these tires, suspension upgrade is needed, my car is on floaty stock suspension that got jolted by a chicago pothole, so I am getting some front end clunks on slow speeds, could be the strut or sway bar end link. I am saving up for KW streetcomforts. So ya, ditch the floaty suspension for coilovers for ultimate control with PSS. Some pics. Last edited by T4NZ4NIT3 335i; 06-19-2016 at 06:02 PM.. |

What wheel manufacture and offset?... looking to do the same. These 19's with rft are killing the enjoyment of my f30

Looks great
I lol'd at your comment about the Pirelli runflats - aren't they just awful? Picked up an F30 328i recently with them and can't wait to get a set of MPSS after having excellent results with them on my other car. |

They are terrible.Although the turn in is sharp but the ride is just horrible.I would grimace at the sight of potholes that I knew I couldn't avoid. I reckon they wear out the shocks faster due to all that force transfering to the dampers and very little being absorbed by the sidewall.

Hi, I was wondering if you ran into any fitment or rubbing issues running 18x9.5 with 255/40/18s? I'm thinking of running the same setup but with a +22 offset. Just want to make sure it will fit first.
