Everyone thinks the N54 cars are worlds faster than an EWG N55 with similar mods but there isn't much to support that. Based on average trap speeds, it's only until they have full bolt-ons and a heavy mix of E85/meth where they're faster. With mild mods, I'd say an EWG N55 will even be quicker on the top-end due to power not falling off as bad. Besides...most N54 cars are falling apart right now. 9/10 of them with over 80K miles have their dash lit up like a Christmas tree.

Don't listen to all the misinformation above...in a 435i with a JB4/intake/downpipe on 91 octane on Map 1, you should expect 335 RWHP on a standard Dynojet 224x (roughly 385 BHP if you don't know otherwise). On Map 2 using 93+ octane, about 350 RWHP is a good target. On an E30 mixture on Map 5, I personally made 381 RWHP with the above mods and it has been running flawlessly for 5K miles now. On Map 7 using 100-octane, several have made 400+ RWHP. Check the 2-series forum.

A Hellcat and 335 serve the same purpose for me. Car, big backseat, get from point A to point B and able to be modded and tracked occasionally. Plus they cost about the same.

And since I don't play the elitist game that BMW part suppliers do, the Hellcat would have been even better for me if Fiat Chrysler execs weren't such pigheaded idiots.
You don't feel the BMW offers more luxury than the Hellcat ?

Not the 3 series, no. The Dakota leather is awful, the seats are uncomfortable, you have to pay extra for everything. I'd have to go back to a $110k LWB 7 to get the space and "luxury" that I can get from a Charger or 300. Chrysler has upped their game. BMW is sitting on their laurels.

I agree with you about the 3 series not upping their game in terms of luxury but it is still way ahead of the charger.
We'll just have to agree to disagree

I'll have to completely disagree with you there. Fit & finishes, body gaps, switchgear feedback and tactile/textured feel of things.. BMW has it hands down over any of the Chrysler products. Also I like the leather in my car, it's certainly worlds above the bonded shit that was in my TL.

Anyways, OP: Don't forget the transmission if you're going to compare a F3x 435 to an E9x 335. It's damned fast and will make better use of the power me thinks.

You haven't been in a current Chrysler. They've seriously upped their game. Not only are their interiors better than the 3 series, they'll stand up to Audi and Mercedes.
If you think the leather in the 3 series is good, then you've never been in a true luxury car. Dakota Leather is garbage. Its barely better than vinyl. If I could have gotten Comfort access without it, I wouldn't have gotten it at all. The Nappa leather on the 5,6 and 7 is superior in every way, and Connolly is even better. Every time I get into my car and touch it, I wonder if I made a mistake by not getting another 750.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder; to each their own.

Iv been to drive a stage 2 tuned 435i. The guy that bought my N54 335i took me to see it. So we had a play on the strip leading to the garage on their estate. Unfortunately it does not stand up to the N54 335i. Its so noticeable there were car lengths lept between us.

I never had a fair race agains n54 as I race one that had dci and jb4 only when I was fbo on map 5 93oct and I walked bout 2 cars on him .. And I'm 2013 f30 which have smaller turbos then 2014s ewg F series .. Their were also a race on you tube 135i n54 dci jb4 and dp map 2 vs same mods the on map 2 f30 335i n55 and 135 was able to pull only a car on it which was a surprise to 135i owner as he though he would of killed it .. Again it was 2013 n55 non Ewg.. So I'm not claiming n55 being as powerful as n54 but it seems people really underestimate them way too much .. Specially new once able to hold boost better.. is not that far away from n54 ..mildly modded ..

Thanks for all of the info guys. I apprecuate the effort to help. I am going to look at an M4 tomorrow. Hopefully i like it. If i do i will either be buying it or looking for one similar slightly used to beat the initial depreciation.
