Must have involved dismantling the Speedo as the cruise marker is a disc which must be 1 cog out?

Are none of you familiar with the approximately 3-mph "correction" programmed into BMW speedometers? It can be coded out/deactivated fairly easily - see the DIY and Coding section of this forum. I've done that for both of my BMWs and the cruise marker now matches the speedometer readout. You can also add a digital speed readout into the area below the gauges where you can rotate through time/date, outside temperature, average speed, etc.

Yes of course, the thing is that you have to open the cluster and get to the Cruise control light, all you have to do is to make sure the you put the green light on zero position and to make a zero position you have to move the black head with the green light clockwise and then you feel its stops then just push it slowly to zero and then go back counterclockwise to but it in the zero position, as the picture

It must be misaligned but, imho, so what? I also have the HUD and with the HUD in my windshield, I never look down at the speedo so it doesn't matter to me if it is misaligned. The HUD tells me what I need to know.
