Either way, a great alternative to the 3/4 series. People complain about c450's auto transmission, but it's not that bad. Overall, great car. I wanted to read the reviewers reactions, more so than facts. |

Every negative review is the same though - the transmission represents a significant Achilles heel. I think it's a fantastic car, but if I were in the market for a sedan, I'd be hard pressed to consider it over a 340 which has an *excellent* auto and a sweet manual option to boot.
Tough call, as the AMG represents a really great overall product. Gorgeous interior too, at least imho.

It's a nice car, but I would (and did) take the 340 over it any day. The transmission is indeed the achilles heel, but even without that the 340 is more responsive, and with the butt dyno, quicker. Also, the adaptive suspension on the 340i xDrive is much sportier than the AMG-tuned one on the 450.

Who cares it's a POS Mercedes-Benz with automatic transmission. If I wanted to read something more exciting I might read a review about the new Prius. Which is a really nice car. That styling might be controversial but in a few years it's gonna look awesome. The mileage is impressive and I'm sure the total cost of ownership is next to nothing.
