connected drive issue
Can not add email account in my connected drive setting using Comcast. Went through the step by step process with "BMW Genius" but no luck. At the end the genius said to call Comcast and ask them if there is anything in the settings that I have to change in order for email to work in my car. Unbelievable. I throughout that BMW should have this information for you instead you have to do the research. Any Ideas before I call Comcast although don't think Comcast has anything to do with it. Thanks in advance.

You need to enter the Comcast info on the BMWConnected portal/website. This allows the BMW servers to access your account and then forward email to your car/iDrive. In the car, you enter your Connected login. A couple of us have gotten this working and there was a thread a few weeks ago. If you're in the US, it's a pain in the ass because, while it does work, you have to enter your Connected username and password in iDrive EVERY TIME you start the car, which is stupid. |

Is it REALLY necessary to get/send email while you're driving? Just asking...sometimes it's better to suspend that method of communication until you can devote your entire attention on it rather than do it while you're driving.

If you have ATT or an iPhone you cannot. It has to do with security of the device.
