I thought so too. Less so on the 19s vs my 18" winter setup. It definitely sits higher than RWD but not as high as I've seen in photos. Maybe it's the M Adaptive Suspension?

I live on Long Island and should be taking delivery on my 340i within 4 weeks or so. We should go for a cruise soon!

OP,
Sweet car! Seems like mine will be very similar, just with different colors.
Thanks for your notes on the car. Ive been a bit nervous coming from an E92 M3 and 335is that this wouldn't drive as nicely. (Obviously there are some changes but you know what I mean).

Petty, but do you know if you can code it to turn the shifter light on?
First time having a BMW Manual so I'm really looking forward to it!

Lol, same car except everythings' different.

I don't think you can code the manual shifter lights since they appear to be chromed out.

I will say my 340ix does not drive nearly as nice as my E92 M3. Mostly to do with steering. It's not bad, but just not as direct.

Since you resurrected this thread I guess I'll update you guys after 2,500 miles of ownership...

• It’s still not an M, no one notices it – kinda sleeper-ish
• M Performance Power and Sound Kit still not available (needs more power)
• I can now feel that “soft” area in the center of the steering with VSS, it’s a little odd-feeling but still don’t regret getting VSS
Steering wheel seems to not be perfectly centered – alignment is fine, center is pitched slightly left
• E-brake still not engaging as firmly as I’d like it to
• M-brakes are very nice now
• Love the stock exhaust note in Sport mode – slight burbles
• Love the rev-matching – makes driving a manual even more enjoyable
• I’m glad I got the xDrive even though I only truly used it 4-5 days this winter – makes the car more practical and driving dynamics aren’t nearly as noticeable as some have pointed out

Awesome! I feel like the steering position is that way with most BMW's (at least the ones I've had). Mine always sit slightly to the left. I'm a bit obsessive and a perfectionist so I kept taking it back to BMW and they say it's because if you fall asleep at the wheel, they want the car to go to the right instead of oncoming traffic.....I think I've heard that twice. Don't know the validity....
So with the e-brake...are you really having to pull it up there to get the car to stay still? Versus some where where it doesn't need to be that tight?

If he did, that's one hell of a deal (almost 10k off sticker).

I paid about 52k for a car that's sticker is a little more then 58k.

Never heard that before about the steering position. It didn't feel that off center with my winter wheel and tire setup but more noticeable now that I have the OEM 19" wheels and rubber on. I may bring it in to the dealer to have them take a look when I have time.

As for the e-brake, it's better than when I first picked it up but yeah it's kinda light. I have to really pull it up there still.

Weird I felt the same for a moment after I swapped back to the OEM rim and MPSS.
But it went away later in the day. It was perfectly center with my winter setup.
I will need to check again to verify.

On plus side the steering is now firmer and feels better with the summer tires.
Ride is better, less unnecessary bounces on road imperfection. My WS80 always felt like I put too much air in the tires (32/35).

The dealer doesn't code it, its just included in software, has been for a while, not sure whats going on with his car.

i agree with ebrake not engaging as tightly as I want unless I pull pretty hard.
stock exhaust sounds very good for being stock...but still waiting for MPPK/MPE

at least you guys don't have a messed up crankshaft to deal with...

Out of curiosity, what made you decide to go from a line of M cars (bar the one X) to a "normal" 3-series?
