Question
How does the dealer do a software update with the jb4? Does this affect the jb4? Should I take it out or switch to map 0? My service consultant is chill and is mod friendly. He wants to know before continuing

If you have JB4 stage 2, it is much easier to just switch it to map 0 then taking the whole thing off if it just for regular service.
You can find out the map position by hooking up a laptop with the USB cable to the JB4 or press the "-" volume button for 3-5 seconds. If the shifter light blink once, that's mean the JB4 was on a map other than map 0, but then it just became map 0. If it didnt even blink, then you are on map 0 already and will switch to other map once you press "+" volume button and the light on the shifter will blink once. I have them on my F10 and F15 and I never take them off, unless if it for warranty purposes which involves the engine department.
