They were Pirelli. I don't recall the exact model. I'll let you know once I take delivery.

Thoughts on my new Black Saph F30:

Now that I've driven my in-laws around for a week during their visit here in Seattle, I can say with certainty: this car f*cking rocks!

Gotta admit that I'm loving it. My old car felt so lame in comparison to the F30. It struggled up hills while this new 3er just feels powerful and in control. The quality level is there, everything from the feel of a door closing to the idrive control wheel. I also love the little features: the kick open trunk, the HUD, the blind spot detection. Add to that it's just plain fun to drive -- it really commands respect on the road.

I even saw a 2011 E90 as I was parking in downtown Seattle and he stopped me and said "Hey, nice car. Is that the new 2012?" I proudly said "Yep."

There are some negatives, though. Some parts feel a little cheap, like the plastic around the windshield mirror. The quality of the leather upholstery work on the seats felt underwhelming -- there seems to be too much give. I was initially overwhelmed by Idrive options, but I can get over that.

But in the end, I'm very pleased with this car. It's a blast. And it can handle the farm life no problem

So to test my new baby out, I did the obvious thing. I took the in-laws on a road trip to a llama & alpaca farm! Who wouldn't? Here are the pics from the road, the Mukilteo Ferry over to Whidbey Island, and the farm.

Enjoy!

I normally don't do bling (show w/ no go), but the chrome sides on the factory grills really bothered me. So, I ordered up the Black "Performance Grills." For some reason the local warehouse only had one side in stock, so I had to wait 2 days to get them and they finally arrived today.

They were not as easy to install as some would have you believe. So, I had the dealer assist me with the install. It was the first one that they've done, so you can imagine it took them a little bit of extra time as they didn't want to damage the bumper which seems super easy to do if you're not careful. I think in total it took less than 30 minutes to do.

A few quick iPhone pics attached. Maybe after the rain lets up tonight, I'll wash it down and take some real pics.

Big thanks to Romando in the service drive at Peter Pan BMW for volunteering to install this for me with super care.

/drool @ Andy. The coral red is GORGEOUS! And Sjohal my ED is May 20 but my dealer said it will be in South Carolina on April 25 ahead of schedule so I should have it by the end of this month!!!

Also, I have a question for Andy. Does your coral red have grey piping on the seats like it shows on the configurator? A lot of people are saying the piping is non-existent in real life just the stitching. I appreciate the input!

Yeah the piping is still gray! So far I am the only coral red that has come in at this specific dealership...its an uncommon color.

Hello!

Picked up today my new F30 320i Automatic in Jet Black.

One thing missing are the chrome accents around the windows; these will be placed next week by the dealer.

Jet black (Uni Schwarts II) looks quite nice to me. really black dark color.

Sofar a couple of photos of the car today:

(F30) Official BLACK F30 Photo Thread

Hello,

My new F30 320i with automatic gear was delivered with the following styling/colors:
- jet black (schwarz II)
- sensatec interieur
- chrome window strips
- 17" styling 414.
- mist lamps
This is no specific line BMW, just a standard one with a list of options.

Here are some photos for the folks who wonder how Jet Black looks with a light interieur and some chrome accents on the standard no line new F30 and 17" rims.

Photos taken in Dutch Countrysite:
