That’s fair I think, particularly if into the realms of x16d.

But I guess (and this is what you’re saying) everyone buys a bmw for a different reason, for me it’s the enjoyment of the driving experience (and a bit about the brand and perception of a bit of luxury), so dropping to a x16d wouldn’t scratch my itch. For others I’m sure they care not a jot about the performance, just about the brand. Which is where your 2AT and 2GT owners come in.
