I went off the route on mine on suburban roads for about an extra 10 minutes. If I hadn't, I would have never seen how stop/start worked. I wasn't too worried about being responsible on my insurance. My insurance is pretty good.

I never received an email either, though they had my info when I showed up. It didn't really matter anyway since they let folks register at the event as well.

So how do you get the $1000 credit?

You'll get it eventually. Regardless, the dealers have your info.

In my case, while I never got the confirmation email from my registration, I did get an email from BMW after the event with my confirmation codes. Plus, as shabadoo25 said above, you can also just go to the dealership where you did your test drive and they can look it up for you. You might be able to do that at any BMW dealership, but the people at the event indicated "come back here and they can look it up" when I asked what happens if I don't get an email or lose my code.

To address the concern everyone has about getting email confirmation of your appointment, it says to print your confirmation at the end of the signup. I printed a copy of it and just plan to bring it in with me if I don't get the confirmation email.

I went to an event last Saturday and I noticed a lot of walk ups. So if you don't get the confirmation email, I'm pretty sure you can just show up and sign up there if they can't find you in the system.
I also got my discount code this morning. So the turn around time seems pretty quick (2 business days) for getting codes. |

Contacted the # and they reconfirmed me at another dealership for the event. I wanted to ask though, the $1000 allowance is what exactly? Does it act like a down payment, subtracted from the MSRP or what?

It's like a coupon. So you agree to a price with the dealer and then you take $1k off that price. So for example, you agree with your dealer on $40k for the car and then you spring the $1k on them and you get the car for $39k.

To the dealership the $1,000 is like cash since it is reimbursed by BMW HQ, so no they don't end up losing anything... plus they usually don't really pay invoice for their cars anyway.

Excellent. He'll hopefully respond quickly. He gets a ton of emails and is generally really busy.
