Hi guys,
I just finished with my retrofit, and it is amazing. Look like a new car. Beautiful. But I have a problem, not big, but worth to solve it: When I turn on lights sometimes (50% of cases) one of the xenon bulb doesn't turn on (always drivers side one which doesn't turns on). After switch if it off and on make it work, but sometimes I have to disconnect the relay's power cable. After doing something always works so parts are OK, I tried switch the sides with bulb, ballast and relay but same. UPDATE: when I wait 1 minute after turning on car 90% of cases both bulb works, but there was one time which I had the same problem. If anybody knows a solution I would really appreciate any help. Thank you! |

This thread has been an extremely informative read and it seems to be an appropriate place to ask a few retrofitting questions of my own. Let me know if you think I should just create my own thread.
I've got a 2012 F30 328i that came stock with halogens. The PO installed Ebay Depo (I think) headlights to acquire the angel eye look. The angel eyes are decent but the low beam projectors are awful. I might be over exaggerating but they barely put out more light than just the fog lights/angel eyes. I've got about 10 feet in front of the car that is lit up and it is just dangerous at this point. What do y'all think my options are with these headlights with projector lens already installed? They sit nice and flush with the angel eyes already. Do you think I would need to replace the lens, bulbs, ballasts, etc. or will these lens work with the rest of a projector retrofit? Is it possible these headlights have halogen bulbs with projector lens? The car is a daily driver and thus hard to find enough down time to take the headlights out and really find out what I am working with (until I get some free time a month from now). https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/ZT8AA...~t/s-l1600.jpg https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/KVwAA...ot/s-l1600.jpg Last edited by stiffler style; 01-01-2019 at 05:42 PM.. |
