If you can get four done for £40 then that's good. I was quoted £15 per wheel when getting a couple of tyres for my daughters car.

£15 is the usual amount these days.

Anyone know how much BMW charge?

I've found them quite competitive in the past at some places and they *seem* to really take care of wheels and not damaging them.

I just had 4 done, pretty big tyres. 285/40/r21's which most said they'd charge more for.

Just tyres wanted £34 a tyre, Formula 1 wanted £22 a tyre and most independents wanted about £20. It was after snow a week or so ago and most were fully booked or a big queue.

I eventually gave up and called in at Kwik Fit as I was passing, expecting them to be busy and expensive. They got me straight in and it was £11.50 a tyre, standard price. If just swapping wheels it's £6.50. Did a good job, no marks on the diamond cut wheels.

I was surprised too, they were my last resort. I'm assuming that's their standard rate nationally, I'd be surprised if each centre set their own.

Wow, I've been quoted 20 pounds a corner... They all comment about hating the runflats!

Was that swapping, or replacing tyres?

So no tyre disposal required. May be not such a good deal then.

Got two rears fitted at Kwik fit yesterday. £23.00 total, fitting, balancing and tyre disposal. Must say I used to avoid KF like the plague.....but best service I've had for years. Called me out to the car to examine a kerb mark before starting work. Very friendly chaps.

HiQ wanted £25 a tyre.

I asked KF how much they would have charged for two rear tyres (Michelin PS4) and they were only about £14 more than I paid through tyreleader who were the cheapest at time of ordering.

I use an independent for all my tyres / winter wheels swaps. It's amazing how they often offer discounts for cash and no invoice
