I've got the 270 deg cameras. As far as just PDC, it's really hit or miss for curbs (no pun intended)... I don't recommend relying on them for this purpose.

As far as the 270 deg cameras, it takes some practice to figure out how to use the cameras. After you do though, it's quite helpful. The 270 deg cameras are most useful for making sure you're flush with parking spots / curbs / out of "red curb" zones for street parking. It's also nice for parallel parking when the spot is a bit tight and you're not quite sure if you're going to make it. The red max-cut lines are great for telling you "Don't even bother, you're not gonna make it"

The main annoyance is that the rear view is not really that far so it's not great for backing out of a parking spot or other activities where you would usually look behind you. You're going to have to get used to tapping the iDrive knob to flip between the two views as appropriate.

Mine senses the the curb or those cement blocks in each stall in front whether driving into or reversing into the spot. For parallel parking - it parks itself and is pretty good in even the tightest of spaces - damn that motorcycle that almost took up half a good space!!

i am not sure it picks up curbs on the front or parking blocks

i have a little scratch on the bottom of my front lip (well on the bottom side so you'd actually have to look under the car to see it) and the PDC definiely doesnt detect stuff that low.

At first i wasnt going to order PDC, but ended up taking a car off the lot that had it and am glad i got it. i've managed to hit a few short objects with previous cars, and realized how useful it will be (like plants in pots... sigh, leaves marks on bumpers sigh)

Just depends how high it is. Taller curbs yes, lower curbs no. So that essentially means you can't rely on it.

I drove a few days and it didn't pick up any of the NYC curbs.
Some of them are tall enough to scratch my wheels if not careful.

It may see the curb at a distance but when you get too close it tends to go out of sight, which isn't helpful for trying to park close to a curb without hitting it.

Yes it beeps saying youre close but once youre over it its history lol. Listen to the loud ass beeps. Maybe mine are angled a little downwards??
Mine has picked up curbs EVERY single time.

Strange also when i put on my tow hook front license plate it was at an abgle where the pdc was just hitting it and beeping loud the whole time. After a few times getting in and out of the car it went away. Like it adapted to it. Or maybe it just shut off. I changed the angle of the plate and now it works fine again.
