Sorry to see that, Nick...

Not a nice thing to happen, but thankfully the other driver was honest and stand-up and I'll be sorted.. I had a new front bumper on mine and you simply cannot tell... I think it came from Germany all painted etc...

Have to say that it looks like that car park is a bit tight... I'm assuming that the hedge has grown out and so you cannot now pull the cars fully into the spots, hence it makes puling in/out of spots at the corners more difficult...

Just had a call from the other parties insurer.

She had phoned them direct and admitted liability.

They have agreed that the car will be repaired by the BMW franchise I get my car serviced at.

Also, they will pay for a similar courtesy car to be supplied, whilst mine is in for repair.

So, no complaints so far.

Then I shall be in prime position to write an essay on these pages as to the folly of driving diesel...

Indeed, brigand.

There is also CCTV in this car park should the offender not be so honest.

Credit to the lady that was waiting by my car to pass over insurance details.

Must have reversed into it quickly as there is a football sized impact in the rear bumper!
Can't see any collateral panel damage.

Of to BMW to get a quote.

I'm betting £1500.

Any advances?

Should be less than that mate, i had a bumper repaired and new xenon headlight by BMW which cost £1400, and the headlight unit alone was £700 of it!

Sorry to see that. Nice of the other party to be so decent and honest about it. How often does that happen?

It doesn't. Got hit in a supermarket car park while away from the car. Driver that hit me left a note, then later got shirty when I used an approved repairer, rather than a friend he recommended. He took a photo of my car that was on the white line. Insurance told him to pay up.

Same if you hit someone parked on double yellow lines. You still hit them.

With my previous bmw a woman ran into the back of it, when the car was only 8 weeks old. She'd been distracted by the wedding at the church on the street...

She had a young child with her and was crying with the shock. Couldn't get angry about it as no one was hurt, which was the important thing. Bumper took the brunt - think it was £800 including a replacement parking sensor, which her insurance covered.
