iDrive activated when door is opened

When I open the door to my 328i in my garage, I can hear the iDrive boot up and the hard disk spin. The engine is off and there is no key in my pocket. Any idea what it is doing?

Are you sure it's the iDrive? My 335i does the same and I suspect it's the fuel pump turning on briefly to pressurise the fuel lines ready for engine start. VWs certainly do this as well.
