Catless Downpipe Smell

Hey guys

Looking to get ER Catless downpipe but am worry about the smell. I'm running JB4, AFE Intake, MPE on my N20 and am looking for other ways to gain additional performance, thus downpipe. I drive a lot in the city, so tons of stop and go traffic, which means the smell from exhaust is something I want to carefully consider.

I've thought about catted downpipe, but seems not really worth the money for the small performance gain.

What's your experience like with downpipe from ER or any other brand?

Would appreciate any thoughts/comments!

Not sure if the f30's are the same as the e90's but they had a secondary cat. My e90 with catless down pipes did not generate any smell what so ever. My 370z with test pipes was awful, which is why I made sure I wasn't gonna experience that again.

Just did some googling and seems f30 338s don't have secondary cats. Darn

@teapain, you can always go for the hi-flow catted downpipe.
The gain won't be as long as the full catless, but it didn't gives you the smell.
I had the ER catless downpipe on my 528, and I don't mind with the smell. It is not that bad in an open space.

Hi,
We have sold a lot of these DP , did not get any customer complaint about the smell.
As with any catless DP, there will be a smell if the car is on idle for a while but it won't be obnoxious

I have catless DP and removed the resonator. Never have any issues with smell inside the cabin with windows up. In the summertime with the windows down, the smell will get into the cabin when you're at a red light for instance. I can live with it.
