Basically I ordered the stuff I liked on my E91 and left out the pointless bits. Electric memory seats for example are great but there's only me that drives it. And comfort access is nice when opening the car but a bit dumb when you're locking it.

Anyway, cheers

In ordering an F30 there are only 3 options required:
  1. 330D
  2. Adaptive Suspension
  3. Professional Nav

...and you've got them

All the other stuff is just gadgets, none of them add to the real driving experience

I have to admit I do love my gadgets. In fact I could have got the 335i or even the ActiveHybrid 3 as the contract hire prices on both are quite keen but I'd have had to do without the bits and bobs. Bits and bobs get me every time.

And if we all come across as miserable, cantankerous gits ... it's because we've already been waiting for 3 months and time is getting short so we're all a little stir crazy right now

Congrats on the purchase though

Don't totally agree Nis, (but lets not fall out as people are doing on VSS thread). It is personal choice. For example, I think HUD whilst expensive does add to driving experience and same can be said for other options. That is not to say you can't manage without them or you'll ever see any money back for them but comes down to budget and preferences.

The wait is a killer I agree. The wait for my 2011 E91 nearly did me in. And I believe the business manager I dealt with at the time is still in a convalescent home for the mentally damaged. He was a little like Inspector Dreyfus during the vehicle handover.

They are going to look for anything that may be in build that can be altered but it's not going to happen. We all know that.

Now then, black grilles...

Ha ha what I mean is if you are a petrol head, all you need is the engine (Eeeek!!! a Diesel in my case), good tyres (standard with M Sport trim), good gearbox (standard with 330D) good suspension (M Sport good, adaptive even better)....and you have a cracking car. The other 'stuff' is OK but not essential.
Personally I would rather have a bog basic 330D M Sport than a full house 316D, but that is because the drive is more important to me by a long long way.

Nice spec, although if you're anything like me you'll be on the configurator rebuilding your car almost every day, setting the result as your wallpaper and reading the brochure from cover to cover

It's a long wait but very worthwhile

And in the meantime (sorry for the crappy pic) BMW have put me in this...

Absolutely free until mine arrives. F31 320d Sport Auto with Business Nav, leather, heated seats, tints, extended storage etc. Result!

To be honest I'm still in shock.

There were other 'factors' involved. Let's just say my BMW experience up to now hadn't been too good. But that BMW UK and Sytner Sheffield have now excelled.

I'll post up some decent pics tomorrow. I'm like a big kid. Two brand new cars! One now and another even better one in February!

Should make the wait a lot easier for you, and you'll appreciate the differences with yours even more. Nice to see a dealer giving some good customer service for a change...

Speaking of dealers, I'm still being told week 6 delivery. I can't see it being earlier as there are too many variables over Christmas/winter.

Oh well, I'll keep badgering them anyway
