Steering Wheel Heated Button wiring Loom difference

Hi

I am in the process of changing the button as I have changed the SZL from Pre LCI 9351143 to LCI 6827376 (see picture attached)

The question now is that I can obtain the button only without the wiring loom and wanted to know whether the button will still work using the existing wiring loom that connects the SZL

Both buttons have a different colour to the wiring loom but I understand both only have SIG, Ground & LED

Existing button is 9384363 (chrome border)- this is not compatible with SZL 6827376 as it does not power up

Replacement button (all black) is 9267365

Just want to clarify whether the wire itself makes any difference to the button’s operation

Thank you in advance

The wires do not make a difference if the amperages are similar. In this case, it's a switch vs swtich....so no issues. Make sure the pin functions match for the two switches. Unless the LIN is able to read the difference between the two switches, a switch is a switch so should not matter. As far as I know, only the SZL module is considered as a "network device" on the bus and not the switch you are referring to. Check the wiring specs in TIS or ISTA.
