On the flip side, introducing warm air into the system while the ducts are cool will actually cause condensation and moisture inside the ducts. That's what causes mold and mildew.
I thought when you warmed cool air condensation would occur- the way I think about it is if I stick a glass cup in the freezer/fridge, then pull it out into ambient temperature (kitchen) after about 30 seconds the surface will be wet. Or like the coke can example you wrote.

The point of running the car with the AC off, i think, for about a minute/two is so the ambient temperature of the AC system becomes the same as outside by the time you park- so that condensation can happen while moving with the wind helping.
Condensation occurs when cooling warm air.
