Uh-huh...God forbid you ever have to say “but I didn’t see the kid in back of my car”.

Unless you’ll find that comical as well.

I guess you’ve forgotten how to drive a manual as well as how to drive without electronic assists?

Guess we should put breathalyzers as standard in every car so you woukdnt have to say “I killed my child in my car for driving drunk”. And I’m sure you turn off all your electronic devices while driving with kids in your car? Or perhaps we need a mandatory electronic gizmo to shut the car off if electronic devices are on?

Responsibility is ultimately in the hands of the person behind the steering wheel.

Trying to shift blame is a cop out.

That’s borderline moronic. What does the ability to drive a manual have to do with a backup camera?

The reason the rear camera is now or going to be required standard equipment is the many blocked rear views owing to high trunks and minivan/SUV lack of sight line.

It’s not a cop out to be unable to see through objects. Cats, dogs, kids....how many have died because they were backed over?

You obviously have no ego issues and are just as obviously superior in all ways to the rest of us. So no need for you to respond, these issues are for us normal humans.

Geez. There’s no reaching some people.

White car?

White BMWs seem to have this issue, caused by reflection off the bumper putting the camera into day mode. I solved it on my white 740 by putting a black rubber protector on my bumper.

The license plate lights can also be coded to turn off when reverse is engaged so they don't reflect on the bumper and affect the camera

I disagree.

My G37 had an excellent back up camera and the ac was much colder than the bimmer.

Yeah my backup camera on my AW F36 is pretty bad at night. I've adjusted the brightness and contrast to make it better, but then its bad during the day. Trying to find a nice middle ground.

My 2015 WRX was muchhh better at night, but the BMW is clearer and larger during the day so I guess its a trade off.

You can do that, or put a bit of black electrical tape over the camera lens to it can't see the bumper. You don't lose any useful viewing area, only the view of the bumper.
