Break in period?

Picked up my 328i Msport on Saturday 5/24 I was just wondering if there's a breaking in period? If so what are the rules or guidelines

I purchased mine in Germany (US Specs) and the BMW Dealer told me the break in period was limited to 4,500 RPMs or 100 MPH.

My sales guy told me to drive it like I normally would, lol...I said im not sure if I should do that. I kept if "fairly" conservative for the first 1200. But its hard to keep it under 4500 when you're merging into traffic aggressively

4500rpm for the first 1200 miles is what I was told also. I did it because I bought my car. If I had leased it, I wouldn't have.
In the end it's all about protecting my investment. If that's what the factory recommends, that's what I will do.

Just picked mine up 4 days ago at the Performance Center. I was told for the 1st 1,200 miles, no wide open throttle, speed under 100mph, tach under 4500rpm's, no cruise control, and no sport mode. I put on about 1,050 miles driving back up to the Boston area and didn't find it hard to stick to his guidelines.
