have a 2014 320d, finally decided to send for a custom tune!

i have done:
bastuck dual exhaust,
cat delete,

are there any aftermartket radiators or the stock one is good enuf for 28-30deg c weathers?

also, any one on aftermarket intercoolers?

Could you give us the details of your Tune.
I have been trying to establish what Torque/Nm's the 20d's Gearbox/Transmission will take.
Am trying to establish the best/suitable tune for mine.

was tuned via dimport software, the ECU had to be removed and something soldered? nt really sure, my car is in sg, there is a cap for torque set by bmw on the transmission and engine.

a little smelly, but no smoke at all during dyno or normal drive.

the smell should go away in a couple off day,s , i also thought about removing the DPF ( 430d ) but i do not like the smoke if accelerating....

accodring to the tuner, the engine torque limit was set at 400nm and the gearbox was 450, the gearbox wont go higher than the engine limit, so the tuner adjusted the engine torque limit.

Interesting great figures of 270bhp and 549nm. As I'm not on the technical side could you help with the following.

1) What did your tuner adjust the engine torque limit up to.
2) So the Gearbox /Transmission will take/handle whatever the Engine Torque is set/adjusted to.

I was looking at a Chip or Tune. Upgrading my Intercooler and Fan, which come from the BMW 320d Performance Power Kit.

2.) tried a 328d with racechip, but the gear change on the custom tune feels faster

im also looking to order the wagner competition intercooler, but for fan, seems i cant find any P/N to compare with my current one, so leaving as is.

Got my n47 318d tuned and ended up with 200hp 440nm pretty happy with that! Exhaust and intake is all stock!

Don't know what's else I can do to improve power in a 318d

My Q2 re Gearbox/Transmission?
I'm still busy with other things to check on BMW Parts and I will probably have to join the BMW Secret Service to get Info/Part No's etc. as they make it hard to get Info. It's only the perseverance of us on these forums that get the Info. needed.
The Wagner Intercooler looks good.
I believe my Intercooler is not much smaller than the MPKK one, my Fan is 400W and theirs is 600W. Will chase up later. Also

My Standard 20d is around 175Bhp, 130Kw and 350Nm. Tuning for mine, I would probably be looking at 230HP and 450Nm. Anything 200+HP/400+Nm. Not to over the top.

You should be happy with your Tuned figures.
Use Premium Fuel. Our Premium Fuel has Additives that are supposed to keep the engine cleaner. There are also Additives you can put in, I think BMW have some.
OIL - Originally mine was every 2 Years. I rang Castrol and their Tech. guy said because the oil i use is Fully Synthetic it's good for 2 Years BUT suggested if you want to look after your car you should change it every year for peace of mind. So, I would find the best Oil that suits your car.
Basically People who just do short trips would need to look at giving the car a good higher speed trip, blowing the cobwebs out, changing their oil say every 6 Months, maybe and if they cant get good Premium Fuel, look at Additives also.

Please use injectors from 30D 258HP and use hybrid turbo.

ok, i have fitted the wagner intercooler, and have had the car retuned. the car is now running 290bhp 640nm on euro5 diesel. drives fine, the pull is now fantastic, water temps did seem to drop 1 or 2 degrees after fitting the wagner (checked via scanguage2).


BTW, anyone fitted ATF cooler on their cars?

Unless you live on the gulf and it's 100 with a relative humidity of 98%. I'm still wanting to upgrade mine just to handle the Gulf Texas summer heat.

Care to enlighten me on this "hybrid turbo"? I'm more interested in seeing about fitting the twin set up from the 325d since the US 328d shares more of it's components with the 325 than it does the 320, outside of the emissions system.
