I'm very interested in this setup. Can you take in cabin video of you cruising and WOT?

OK, so I pulled the trigger on this exact setup. All the parts should be in by tomorrow. The car goes to the fab shop on Monday to get the custom exhaust system welded up. I'll post videos with the microphone in car and out of car once it's broken in a bit.

Nice! Sorry I haven't had a chance to get better videos up yet. I don't have a mount or something to get the phone in a good position and I also have had very little time to just go for a cruise

Looking forward to your thoughts and videos!

No worries. I run a side business producing promotional videos for tuner/mod shops and personalized short films for car enthusiasts so I have professional camera and sound equipment to put together an in-depth review.

Here is my in-depth review. In short....it sounds amazing. It's exactly what I was looking for. Nice deep tone and no drone.

Awesome video/review! Glad you like the set up

I occasionally notice a similar vibration at 1.5k RPM like you mentioned, but I never took it back to have it looked at. Let me know if they find something on yours!

So after some additional break-in time the slight vibration at 1.5k went away

BUMP!! My VRSF catless DP comes in next week. Should change the exhaust note significantly. Hopefully, it won't be too loud and drone. I'll report back when I get it installed.

Interested to hear the difference! Have been contemplating the same catless DP as well but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I’m out of town for the next two weekends but have taken November 9th and 10th off for my birthday and plan to install CTS Turbo IC, FTP charge pipe and VRSF DP on the 9th. I have an appointment with Auto Talen for Nov 10th for DME unlock and BM3. I’ll try to get some video and audio of the setup with the DP and a review.

Any update on this? Curious as to the outcome with the DP. I?m trying to go a similar route but I can?t find a shop that will fab the 3? piping to move the y-pipe to the center. Everywhere is telling me that they don?t bend 3?

Damn that sucks and is a little weird. 3" is a common pipe diameter for exhaust work. Might have to keep searching for a better exhaust shop I guess :/

Waiting on some updates from JaredG to see how this setup sounds with the catless DP added!

I agree, they all would only deal with up to 2.5". Once they got a 3" and bending, they turned me down

OK so here is my feedback regarding adding the VRSF DP. I'll try to get some video this weekend so you guys can hear it for yourself...

1. On stock tune the exhaust note at cold start is much more prominent. I really like it. It sounds really good at WOT. There is some very slight drone around 2.5k RPM. When I slight I mean if you turn the radio up or have the windows down you can’t hear it. It’s only noticeable with windows up, radio off and under load. It’s easily livable even for a daily driver, which my car is.
2. On performance tune (Bootmod3 stage 2, 91 octane) there is significantly more drone. This is especially true after a few pulls from 2.5k to redline (was doing this for logging purposes). It actually made me contemplate putting the stock exhaust back on and then I made a discovery. I’m not sure why, but the drone all but goes away in Sport and Sport+ mode. Comfort and ECO Pro there is drone. Sport and Sport+ mode, minimal drone, about like the stock tune. It sounds narley when going through tunnels.
My consensus is that I will stay with this set up. It’s sporty, sounds really good under load and WOT with minimal drone that is acceptable for daily driver. I’m glad I went this route. If I were to do anything different it might be Borla ATAK but I’m afraid that might be too loud.

This is interesting. I have the 8AT and notice that theres definitely more drone in Comfort mode, but not nearly as much in Sport. I've always assumed its just related to shift points and the fact that cruising in sport mode is usually 500-800 RPM higher than Comfort.

But iirc, you have a manual, which means you're always controlling the RPMs. Must be some other contributing factors that create some drone in Comfort mode.

Either way, interested to hear the videos!

The drone in comfort is so bad, that i never even drive the car in comfort mode. I have a catless DP/armytrix catback for reference. I think that once you but a DP on these cars, the RPMs below 2000 really sound bad. If i drive it in sport, I have no complaints.

I wonder what the difference is between Comfort and Sport that impacts the drone so much.

Sport mode you are almost always above 2K RPMs. Comfort mode you drop well below 2K rpms.
I guess if you want to paddle shift in comfort you could control it a bit more. I personally always put the car in sport or sport + and paddle shift, rain, snow or shine.
