Hey guys I just picked up a big brake kit and I?m a little concerned that I may have grabbed the wrong one.

I am seeing two part numbers.

34112221445KT

And

34112221445KT3 (Note the 3 on the end)

Anyone know the difference?

Don't think there's a diff. But if you're worried, I'll gladly buy it off you for the price you paid + a bit extra for your troubles.

For your car the xDrive version should have a larger rear hub (same as the 335/40 cars). The RWD is smaller in diameter. This is why the M-Perf brake kits don't come with the rear rotors, because those have to be ordered based upon the rear hub size (everything else is the same though).

Per the "fits these vehicles" section on ECS's site you want the KT3 version.

So if I am following my kit may be correct but the rear rotors need to be the large spec?

Spec 34-20-6-797-598 has been included in the set (rear rotors).

Yeah, that's the wrong rotor for you. That one is for RWD cars.

You want 34206797600.

You can see the PN's for the rotors on RealOEM:

Ok understood! So I will most likely need to pick up a new set of rear rotors. As far as the remainder of the kit it should fit?

Thanks for the insights by the way.

I just saw that you updated your post. OK so I am fine with the kit that I have I am assuming with the exception of the rear rotors which I will have to buy separately to suit the correct hub size.

Correct, get the appropriate rear rotors and you'll be set.

Thanks for feedback you were right about the rotors.

I?ve listed them for sale in the classified section and bought the appropriate ones.

Turned out great.

My buddy installed them at Mechanic Kings in Oak Ridges. Now when I drive I hear the pads running against the slotted rotters so you get a bit of a rubbing sound. May go away once broken in, not sure. This is a high performance brake system so I’ve accepted it. They also make a crap load of dust if your anal about it.

i've heard newer msport pads have less dust and better bite. most ppl i've heard hear have switched to M3 pads.

Also, you may want to code the car so it knows it now has the MP brakes for its DSC: http://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho...ormance+brakes

The cars already coded. I took care of it all the same day. I listed out all the coding that I had done in my build thread in the photo section.

All good brother, I have a wife and 5 year old so didn?t want to mess with not coding.

Loving these brakes, I could never go back to stock!
