Dyno run questions and JB4 question
I just picked up a 2015 435i xDrive with 8AT. I also bought a used JB4 that I have not installed yet. I want to get baseline dyno numbers before I install the JB4.
Only other mod is a full muffler delete, on stock Cat. Questions: 1. What gear and mode should I have them put it in when dynoing? 2. What map should I dyno in (Map 2 I assume), once I install the JB4? 3. Can I install the JB4 and do the run on the stock map and then back it up with it a run in map 2? Or is there a learning time that would make this not accurate? 4. Anyone have a link to the Blue tooth module for the JB4? I bought used and found the install guide on Burgers website for the JB4, but nothing on the Bluetooth. 5. On the website I saw a video on the CAN flap. Can someone elaborate on what this is? Thanks all. |

2. Map 2 and Map 5 3. Leave the JB4 installed, and put it to Map 0 to turn it completely off to get a baseline, then put it to Map 2 to get results. 4. n54tuning.com or xph 5. CAN flap is basically the exhaust flap to open or close it. Normally, I would recommend having at least a hi-flow cat for map 2 and 93 octane. If you do not have a catless DP or hi flow, then try map 1 or 5.

Awesome. I will stick to Map 1 and 5 till I get the downpipe. I have been holding off since I have muffler delete. It sounds amazing, but I am afraid a catless pipe will be way to loud.
But downpipe and FMIC are next on the list. If it sounds terrible I will find an exhuast. It was deleted by the previous owner, so I do not have stock. |

Don't forget the CP when you do the FMIC.

Ditch the JB4 / bluetooth and contact Bimmer Performance Center
3200 Spottswood St. Suite 102, Raleigh, NC, 27615, Email: randall@bimmerperformancecenter.com or thomas@bimmerperformancecenter.com, Tel: (919) 501-2090, get Bootmod3 instead IMO if i were u But For JB4 in ord er to run Map5 you will need EWG wires (Extra $35) according to BMS recmmendation, you want to run Bluetooth kit or USB cable to properly update to latest JB4 firmware and make sure your User Adjustment settings are correct before driving on any Active Map. If you're in 93 octane territory you can probably get away with Map2, but make sure u have a way to log when u go dyno.

Map5 is not the greatest to dyno as its a dynamic map.. If you are going to dyno on multiple maps you should also LOG the runs with the JB4 app to see boost curves. Its actually always good advice to LOG any dyno run. Mike |
