If you're going to have guests and a studio I agree, but TG didn't always have that. I'm not convinced a cheering crowd adds much really, and the "star in a..." section has been my cue to go and make a cup of tea for years, even before the recent revamp.

I don't know for sure, but I wonder if the new show wouldn't work better without the whole studio bit. Fifth Gear didn't have a studio audience and that was worth watching.

Chris Evans is terrible, Matt Le Blanc is too scripted, Chris Harris puts me to sleep, Eddie Jordan is annoying

The only one I like is Rory, I think he's a good presenter. Really liked his Tesla Model X piece

Definitely liking new top gear now, much less sillyness and CE has toned down his voice a lot!

Let's hope The Grand Tour is even better, that would be awesome!

Has ce changed the way he dresses on any show? Looks a total prick.

Still needs to be fired and it's down to him or mlb and really hope the yank wins.

Harris and Reid keep the show alive IMHO.

But you can't knock the excellent Beeb cinematography.....

Yes was quite good tonight.

I noticed when the show started the first person to speak was Matt, CE barely said a couple of words for the first 2 mins.....

Back on the old TG Clarkson was always the first to speak. Seems times have changed and it's not "CE's Top Gear show" even though it was originally banded around he was the main front man.

Extra Gear is good this week on BBC3 online.
Chris Harris in the i8 around the track. Focus RS around the track with the Stig, surprisingly not a great time at around 1:27 secs and slower than the M135i.
And when asked Chris Harris said the car he most enjoyed driving throughout the whole series was the M2.
.......and a few other bits and pieces.
