Default A/C Settings

Hi gurus,

Let me start by saying that I have scoured the web looking for a solution to my issue and whilst some have had similar issues, I have not been able to find anyone experiencing the exact same issue, hence me asking here.

Whenever I get into my '15 F31, the drivers side vents automatically default to the floor setting (passenger side remain at face setting). This is despite me always changing it to the face setting. The A/C system is never used in Auto mode and is always left on. I drove the car for 2+ years with no issues until recently. I haven't changed anything. I use the same key every single time. No-one else ever drives the car. I haven't changed any of the memory settings and in fact I rarely change the A/C settings.

I have tried resetting the memory function. I have tried cycling through all of the possible scenarios around A/C settings when I switch the car off. I have asked the dealer and they didn't even have an answer for me.

The fact that it is such a small issue should make me think that i should just deal with it. But NO. The fact that it IS a small issue makes me even more determined to fix it. How hard can it be?

Please. Somebody help me.

So after reading your post more closely, I may not be of much help. Mine is typically set to auto unless I want air on my feet. I do recall that on auto, if the AC thinks you need warm air, its on your feet whilst cold air goes to the face.

I'm not 100% sure but I think you can Code the car to remember the last setting of the fan control/AC control.
